Associate General Dentist (Part-Time)

Knoxville, TN

Job Type: Part-Time | 1–3 Days Per Week
Compensation: Competitive daily guarantee with production-based earning potential
Experience: New Graduates & Experienced Dentists Welcome

Our practice is an established, private owned general dental practice in Knoxville, Tennessee.

We combine the personalized care and patient relationships of traditional private dentistry with modern technology, advanced digital workflows, and a collaborative clinical environment.

We're looking for a dependable, compassionate Associate General Dentist interested in joining our team 1–3 days per week, with occasional opportunities for additional coverage.

Whether you're a recent graduate looking for mentorship or an experienced dentist seeking a flexible schedule, we would love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Your primary focus will be providing excellent general and restorative dental care while maintaining strong relationships with our patients and clinical team.

Responsibilities include:

Performing comprehensive and periodic dental examinations
Providing accurate diagnoses and developing appropriate treatment plans
Maintaining thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
Performing restorative procedures, including fillings, crowns, and other general dentistry treatments within your scope of practice
Reviewing radiographs, evaluating oral health, and communicating treatment recommendations clearly
Collaborating with hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to provide efficient, coordinated patient care
Building trusting, long-term relationships with patients
Providing occasional emergency dental care and additional clinical coverage as mutually arranged
Maintaining high standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient safety

We place particular importance on accurate diagnosis, excellent documentation, quality restorative dentistry, and positive patient experiences.

What Makes Us Different?

A Positive, Supportive Team

We take pride in maintaining a respectful, friendly, and drama-free workplace. We value teamwork, open communication, accountability, and treating both patients and coworkers with kindness.

True Private Practice Environment

Work directly alongside the owner-dentist in an independently owned practice. We encourage clinical autonomy, thoughtful treatment planning, and individualized patient care.

Modern Digital Dentistry

Our practice utilizes advanced technology, including:

Digital intraoral scanning
In-house CAD/CAM design and milling
3D printing and digital laboratory workflows
Digital radiography and modern treatment-planning tools

Mentorship and Professional Development

Dr. Paul offers mentorship tailored to your experience and professional interests.

For newer graduates, this may include guidance in diagnosis, treatment planning, restorative dentistry, clinical efficiency, and patient communication.

For dentists interested in expanding their technical skills, there are opportunities to learn digital dentistry, CAD/CAM workflows, and in-house laboratory processes.

Interested in Owning a Practice Someday?

Dr. Paul is also happy to share his experience with the business side of dentistry, including practice ownership, management, insurance, financial operations, and building a successful private practice.

We believe learning the business of dentistry can be just as valuable as developing clinical skills.

Schedule & Compensation

Flexible, part-time schedule of 1–3 days per week
Opportunity for additional clinical days or emergency coverage by mutual agreement
Competitive daily guarantee with production-based earning potential
Opportunity to establish a long-term relationship with the practice
Supportive environment with mentorship available

Qualifications

DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school

Strong diagnostic and restorative dentistry skills appropriate to experience
Commitment to accurate clinical documentation and ethical treatment planning
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with the team
New graduates and experienced dentists are encouraged to apply

Who We're Looking For

We're not necessarily looking for the dentist with the most years of experience. We're looking for someone who genuinely cares about their patients, takes pride in their clinical work, documents thoroughly, and contributes positively to the team.

If you're a recent graduate looking for mentorship and hands-on experience, or an established dentist interested in a couple of rewarding clinical days per week, this could be an excellent fit.
