Job Summary
The Director of Operations will lead all aspects of operational management for a rapidly scaling, private equity-backed orthodontic service organization (OSO) across the Western US. Reporting to the COO/CHRO, this role requires a strong focus on operational execution, business acumen, and expertise in sales and marketing to drive growth and operational excellence. The Director will collaborate closely with the Regional Managers, Orthodontists, Practice Managers, executive team, and BOND leadership, while leading the operations team to achieve strategic objectives.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Operational Leadership:

Oversee the daily operations across multiple orthodontic practices, ensuring consistent

and high-performing execution aligned with organizational goals.

Drive adoption of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote operational

consistency, compliance, and efficiency.

Monitor and manage execution of business plans, practice budgets, and operational KPIs.
Collaborate with regional and practice leaders to ensure seamless patient experiences and

continuous improvement initiatives.

Build strong relationships with doctors and field teams to cultivate a culture of trust,

accountability, and service excellence.
Team Oversight and Support

Provide day-to-day support and leadership to Regional Managers.
Establish clear performance expectations, provide feedback and coaching, and ensure

team accountability.

Identify and remove barriers to execution at the practice level while promoting

collaboration and empowerment.

Create an environment where regional and practice leaders feel supported and motivated

to succeed.
Leadership Development:

Coach and mentor operations leaders to strengthen capabilities in leadership, financial

management, marketing, and culture building.

Support career development through structured feedback, succession planning, and

performance reviews.

Cultivate a talent pipeline and ensure practice-level leadership is equipped to deliver

strong results and team engagement.
Strategic Execution

Execute strategic growth initiatives in collaboration with executive and cross-functional teams, including:
Patient acquisition and conversion strategies
Provider onboarding and recruitment
Scheduling optimization and access expansion
Operational and technology-based efficiencies
Monitor and measure success of initiatives, adjusting approach as needed to ensure alignment with business goals.

P&L and Budget Management

Partner with COO/CHRO to create and manage budgets, forecast revenue, and oversee expense management for assigned regions.
Analyze practice-level and regional P&L statements to understand key performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
Implement corrective strategies to address underperformance, mitigate risks, and optimize practice profitability.

Knowledge and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience in multi-state orthodontic or dental related roles
Proven expertise in driving operational efficiency, scaling growth, and building high performing teams
Minimum of 5 years experience in sales/marketing strategy development and execution
Executive presence with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholder engagement
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing strategic planning with tactical execution
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and demonstrated ability with independent and collaborative decision-making capabilities
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
