Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk
Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
Collect payments and perform medical billing and collection tasks with precision and adherence to HIPAA regulations
Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, including documentation review and data entry in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally
Assist with patient intake processes, including updating medical histories and explaining treatment plans

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist with clinic or office experience in a dental setting
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance verification processes
Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms; familiarity with Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is highly desirable
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
Ability to communicate effectively in bilingual settings is a plus; fluency in additional languages enhances patient service capabilities
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling medical records and patient information
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
