Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Dental Assistant specializing in periodontal procedures to join our dynamic dental practice on Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays.

1 year dental assisting experience is a must. Surgical dental experience is recommended but not required as the Doctor is willing to train somebody as long as there is a desire to learn.

Bonus of $ 1000 paid after three months in four payrolls

Background check and Drug Test Required for position. Current X ray license is also required.

Office will pay for CPR, OSHA training; HIPPA training, IV sedation training, 401K available after one year. Paid vacation days after being hired, Health insurance after 6 months

Duties

Assist the periodontist during surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile.
Provide chairside support by managing patient comfort, monitoring vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly.
Operate dental imaging equipment, including 3D scanners and X-ray machines, adhering to infection control and aseptic techniques.
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records, dental terminology
Support patient education on periodontal health, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices.
Manage sterilization protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe clinical environment compliant with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team, including dental receptionists and hygienists, to optimize patient flow and clinic efficiency.
Assist with general dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating versatility across multiple disciplines such as prosthodontics or endodontics.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a dental assistant with specific expertise in surgical or periodontal procedures.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Experience operating dental imaging equipment including X-ray units and 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with pediatric dentistry when required.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
