Duties

Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies using aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
Operate dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and EMR platforms to accurately document patient information, medical history, and treatment plans.
Monitor vital signs and medical imaging when necessary, especially in pediatric or medically compromised patients.
Manage medical documentation and records with precision, including medical coding and ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy rules.
Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and answering patient inquiries.
Conduct chairside assisting using advanced skills like four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures.
Utilize 3D scanners and other digital tools for diagnostics or treatment planning in general dentistry cases.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric or adult needs.

Requirements

Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty practice such as prosthodontics or endodontics.
Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar EMR platforms.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to take high-quality X-rays and operate medical imaging equipment safely.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics is highly desirable.

Pay: $19.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
