Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Assistant that is willing to be cross -trained to work as a Receptionist to join our team at a busy dental clinic. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and check them in for appointments.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of the dentist's time.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
Handle incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing.
Assist with managing medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
Collaborate with dental assistants and other staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Keep the reception area organized and stocked with necessary materials.
Assist the Dentist with all procedures
Take dental xrays when needed
Sterilize instruments and rooms

Skills

Proficiency in general dentistry terminology and procedures.
Experience in dental assisting or graduation from an assisting program is required.
Knowledge of vital signs monitoring is a plus.
Familiarity with medical records management systems.
Understanding of medical coding practices related to dental services.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
