Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice by providing exceptional administrative support and patient service. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and familiarity with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. A background in dental office management or medical administrative support is highly desirable.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist with the check-in process at the front desk.
Schedule appointments and manage the dental office calendar efficiently.
Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service over the phone and in-person.
Verify insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing.
Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation review and filing of medical records.
Utilize EHR system, Dentrix, for patient management.
Assist with dental billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding.
Prepare care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
Conduct intake procedures for new patients and update existing patient information as necessary.
Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure a seamless workflow within the clinic.

Requirements

Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information management practices is a plus.
Familiarity with EHR system Dentrix is a plus.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong typing skills; experience with 10-key typing is beneficial.
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Any and all skill sets needed to be proficient in above criteria can be provided with necessary training by an experienced personnel over time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
