Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Orthodontic Lab Technician to join our dental team. This role involves fabricating orthodontic appliances and dental devices with precision and adherence to clinical standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, knowledge of dental and medical terminology. A background in dental fabrication, imaging, and infection control is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care through meticulous craftsmanship and collaboration with dental professionals.

Responsibilities

Fabricate orthodontic appliances, retainers, and other dental devices based on detailed prescriptions and specifications
Experience with pouring models and experience with taking impressions is a plus.
Ensure all laboratory work complies with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, materials used, and patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with dental assistants, orthodontists, and other team members to ensure timely delivery of appliances
Conduct quality checks using precise measurement tools such as micrometers to ensure fit and function
Assist with patient assessments related to appliance fitting and adjustments when necessary
Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Skills

Proficiency in dental fabrication techniques and laboratory procedures
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to orthodontics
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to interpret technical drawings or prescriptions
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
