Our busy state of the art periodontal practice is searching for a full-time registered dental hygienist. We are seeking an energetic, outgoing, friendly, reliable person who can communicate and interact well with patients and staff, and provide high quality work. Must be proficient with computers and skilled at customer service.

Essential Duties:

● Assist doctors during clinical exams and record treatment information, consent forms, and treatment plans in patient charts

● Take radiographs as directed by the doctor

● Document periodontal and dental conditions, occlusal relations, and prophylaxis evaluations

● Administer Nitrous Oxide, Oxygen, and local anesthetic within state regulations

● Apply topical agents, pit and fissure sealants, and remove excess cement from teeth/implants

● Perform oral cancer screenings on all patients

● Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies

● Place and remove post-extraction and periodontal dressings

● Inspect oral cavities, chart lesions/restorations, and evaluate gingival health

● Execute root planing and Myofunctional evaluations

● Educate patients on preventative care, disease processes, and home care practices

● Clean/polish restorations and appliances (prostheses, partials, dentures)

● Help maintain a full patient schedule to support daily production goals

● Act as OSHA and infection control coordinator, assisting with documentation and staff training

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

● Proficiency in scaling, root planing, radiographs, anesthesia, and Nitrous Oxide administration

● Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control regulations

● Standard office equipment/software (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management systems)

● Ability to maintain professionalism under stress and engender trust with patients and staff

● Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team
