We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our growing practice to serve our patients and assist our doctors in an array of procedures. Candidates must have at least 2 years of dental assisting experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities involve a mix of clinical and administrative duties, including patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining the dental office.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Patient Management

Monitor patient flow
Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable
Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol
Perform clincial and expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist, as practice act allows
Ensure patients are always attended to
Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
Escort patients from the treatment room to the front desk to properly check out
Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary
Notify the Treatment Coordinator of any treatment changes that may increase the patient’s charges

Treatment Room Management and Sterilization

Set up treatment rooms for procedures
Keep dental units ready, stocked, and clean
Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures
Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations
Keep cassettes, instruments, and treatment room drawers organized and stocked
Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases
Monitor nitrous and oxygen tank levels to ensure levels are adequate to provide treatment
Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol
Monitor the inventory of dental office supplies and inform the necessary personnel to reorder

Records Management

Ensure accurate treatment notes are recorded in the patient’s chart for service rendered and any charges
Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including the HIPAA privacy and security regulations

Office Participation

Compliance with state dental practice requirements (e.g., OSHA training)
Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, unpacking supplies, etc.)
Be an active participant in team meetings
Promote team concept by interacting with others in the office

PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of accredited dental assisting program
Familiarity with Dentrix dental software helpful
Commitment to CE for career development Interpersonal
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
