CLINICAL CARE ASSOCIATE (RDA / ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT / RDH)

Orthodontic experience. More ownership. A four-day workweek.

Simple Orthodontics in Larkspur is hiring Clinical Care Associates (CCAs). If you have hands-on orthodontic assisting experience—or substantial experience assisting with Invisalign in a general dental practice—we would love to meet you.

Our practice treats patients with clear aligners and expanders. We do not use traditional braces. Your orthodontic background will give you a valuable foundation as you learn our approach to care.

This role combines hands-on clinical assisting with ongoing responsibility for patient relationships, communication, and follow-through. You will work closely with Dr. Sean Carlson and become a familiar, trusted person for patients and families throughout treatment.

WHAT IS A CLINICAL CARE ASSOCIATE?

Think of a CCA as a clinical assistant who also helps keep the patient’s entire treatment journey connected.

You will develop the skills to support an assigned group of patients: know their treatment plans, help monitor progress, explain next steps, answer questions, coordinate follow-up, and recognize when the doctor’s attention is needed.

We provide training in our clinical approach, technology, and CCA responsibilities. You bring relevant assisting experience, strong communication, sound judgment, and a willingness to learn.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Provide clinical care involving clear aligners and expanders, within your authorized scope and under doctor supervision.
Prepare for appointments, maintain accurate records, and follow through on next steps.
Build ongoing relationships with patients and families.
Explain the doctor’s recommendations clearly and reinforce treatment instructions.
Help monitor treatment progress and bring concerns to the doctor.
Coordinate appointments, patient questions, and follow-up.
Communicate in person, by phone, and through digital systems.
Notice what needs attention and take responsibility for seeing it through.

As your skills develop, so will your independence and responsibility.

THE EXPERIENCE WE NEED

You must have either:

Hands-on orthodontic assisting experience; or
Substantial hands-on experience assisting with Invisalign or other clear-aligner treatment in a general dental practice.

We welcome experienced dental assistants, RDAs, orthodontic assistants, and RDHs whose backgrounds meet that requirement.

Please describe what you personally handled in orthodontic or clear-aligner patient care. We want to understand your experience beyond simply working in an office that offered Invisalign.

A current California RDA, applicable orthodontic assisting permit, or RDH license is strongly preferred. If you previously held a qualifying credential that needs renewal, please include that information. All clinical duties will depend on your active credentials and permitted scope. Current CPR/BLS certification is preferred and required before applicable clinical duties.

WHO WILL ENJOY THIS ROLE

You are warm, clear, and confident with patients. You listen carefully, think through problems, follow through on details, and know when to ask for help.

You enjoy learning technology, welcome feedback, and want more responsibility as your capabilities grow. You are comfortable helping a nervous child, answering a parent’s questions, and working closely with a small team.

Strong clinical skills matter. So does making people feel understood and supported.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting base pay: $5,000 per month.
Structured growth path, with current base levels reaching $78,000 annually as clinical competence, judgment, and responsibility grow.
