Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures and excellent communication skills to ensure a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings and assessments, including the removal of plaque and tartar.
- Review patient documentation and medical history to provide tailored care.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for patient records management.
- Assist in maintaining infection control protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction.
- Perform four-handed dentistry by assisting dentists during procedures as needed.
Skills
- Proficiency in documentation review and familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols.
- Experience with dental assisting is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate patients.
