Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist/assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations in a fast-paced dental office. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
Schedule appointments efficiently using Athenahealth software.
Manage patient records, ensuring all files are accurate and up-to-date.
Handle medical collections and process payments in accordance with office policies.
Verify patient insurance information, including Medicare coverage, and assist with any inquiries.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to create a welcoming environment for patients.
Respond to phone calls and emails promptly, addressing patient questions or concerns.
Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth operations within the office.

Skills

Proficiency in HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Experience with Athenahealth or similar practice management software is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader range of patients.
Knowledge of medical office management practices, including coding and billing procedures.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical or dental setting is highly desirable.
