Overview:
We are looking for a skilled CDT to join our dental lab team. In this pivotal role, you will utilize your extensive experience and artistic abilities to create high-quality dental prosthetics that meet our clients' specific needs. You will be working with a master dental technician. You will play a key role in collaborating with dentists to ensure that every restoration is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and fabricate custom dental restorations, including crowns, bridges, implants, partials and dentures.
- Process full and partial dentures using heat-cured, cold-cured, and injection-molded acrylics.
- Perform flasking, investing, and boil-out procedures accurately to ensure high-quality results.
- Pack and cure dentures while maintaining proper handling techniques to prevent material defects.
- Trim, finish, and polish dentures to achieve optimal comfort, esthetics, and durability.
- Collaborate closely with dental professionals to understand their requirements, preferences, and to provide expert recommendations.
- Utilize digital scanning technologies and CAD/CAM software to enhance the precision and efficiency of restorations.
- Perform color matching and characterization to achieve natural aesthetics in dental restorations.
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards in all laboratory processes.
- Stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new techniques and materials into practice.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- CDT certification from an accredited dental technology program.
- 5+ years of experience in a dental laboratory environment.
- Proficient in both traditional and digital fabrication techniques, including mastery of CAD/CAM systems.
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy, materials science, and shade selection.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and their applications in dental prosthetics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with dental professionals and team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the fabrication process.
- A passion for craftsmanship and a commitment to delivering high-quality dental restorations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in dental ceramics, alloys, and polymers.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Exocad or 3Shape.
- Familiarity with digital workflow processes, including intraoral scanning and milling.
- Knowledge of dental lab equipment and technology.
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring sitting most of the time and typically works in an office or administrative work setting, with some exposure to adverse environmental conditions for which protective eyewear is required.
