About the Role
The Orthodontic Assistant supports both the clinical and administrative sides of the practice. You’ll work closely with the orthodontist during patient appointments, help manage patient communications, contribute to scheduling and daily workflow, and participate in marketing and community outreach efforts. This is a dynamic, people-focused position that combines hands-on patient care with behind-the-scenes coordination to help ensure a smooth and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.
Patient Care
- Provides chair-side assistance to the orthodontist during all clinical procedures.
- Supports patient care by taking digital x-rays and photographs.
- Fosters strong relationships with both new and existing patients and their families.
- Acts as a key liaison between the patient and the doctor.
Practice Operations
- Manages patient scheduling.
- Assists at the reception desk and over the phone.
- Ensures each day runs smoothly and efficiently.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience and Expertise
5+ years of experience as an Orthodontic Assistant.
Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Skills and Competencies
Detail-oriented - sweats the small stuff.
Strong work ethic - with a demonstrated commitment to excellence.
Exceptional interpersonal skills - brings positive energy to their interactions with colleagues and patients.
Effective communication skills - written and verbal.
