The Dental Hygienist position is located at Eastern Correctional Institution in Hookerton, which houses approximately 477. Reporting to the Dentist, the position is responsible for performing the following duties under the general supervision of a licensed dentist.Examining the teeth of patients and making referrals to the dentist.Applies topical fluorides and performs dental prophylaxis to prevent dental diseases.Records findings and records on dental status and services rendered to patients.Instructs patients on the proper care of teeth.Recommends measures for the prevention of dental diseases.Assists the dentist in planning and carrying out dental health programs.**This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. **Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job.** Note to Current State Employees: State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.
