Our team at Johansen Dentistry is seeking a friendly, dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to assist in various dental procedures. The Dental Assistant will work closely with the dentist and other team members to create a comfortable and efficient environment for our patients.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared.
Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards throughout all procedures.
Perform medical documentation accurately, including patient records and treatment plans.
Manage dental terminology effectively to communicate with both patients and staff.
Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach, ensuring their comfort during visits.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed.
Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay updated on best practices in dental assisting.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Familiarity with medical coding is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and team members.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A compassionate demeanor when working with pediatric patients is highly valued.
Proficiency in using dental equipment, including radiography machines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 38 per week
