Cheek Dental, the private practice of Dr. Kristina (Kristy) Chandler, Colleague Dr. Cristi Cheek, and talented team is searching for a PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR to job-share a role with one of our many talented staff members! In this role (after training), you’ll be the warm, welcoming first point of contact—whether in person or over the phone—while expertly managing hygiene scheduling, patient check-ins, and communication to ensure both patients and team members have an exceptional experience every day. After training, your role as a 3 day / week Patient Care Coordinator is varied, fast-faced, technical, and lots of fun. Roles and responsibilities include:
- Making an excellent first impression “at hello.”
- Answering the phone, addressing questions, directing calls.
- Scheduling: Crafting a busy and ideally scheduled day for our dental hygienists. If you enjoy putting a puzzle together, you’ll enjoy our scheduling system!
- Patient “check-in” procedures; dishing out Cheek Dental hospitality while updating registration and notifying the clinical team of the patient’s arrival.
- Onboarding new patients, sharing first visit information and providing information to turn an ordinary call into an extraordinarily positive patient experience.
- Documenting conversations in the chart to keep all team members “in the know.”
- Working closely with all team members so that co-workers and patients all have an amazing day!
WHAT QUALITIES AND SKILLS ARE WE SEEKING IN OUR QUALIFYING CANDIDATES?
- Highly organized: comfortably and frequently multitask with a smile
- Customer service skills: Easily expresses empathy and professionalism
- Communication skills! Comfortable leading patients into appointment times that help us to help them, discouraging late cancellations, and asking for money when payment is due.
- Fast keyboarding and solid computer skills: Do consider yourself “software savvy”?
- Excellent writing skills: Candidate must demonstrate excellent sentence structure, spelling, and accurate composition so that correspondence to patients is accurate and professional
- Preference to work in a true team setting and exercise the foresight to think, “When I’m not at work on Monday, what important information will my co-workers need to know?”
- Passionate desire to work in the healthcare field and help others

DENTAL EXPERIENCE IS NICE, BUT NOT REQUIRED. No doubt, prior dental experience is helpful to scale the learning curve, but not necessary to master this rewarding role. We value “the right person” and many of our current team members gained their knowledge, skills and certifications “on the job” through their excellent comprehension and dedicated commitment to learn.
