Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a commitment to promoting oral health. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health practices, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to protect teeth.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for diagnosis.
- Document patient treatment plans, progress notes, and medical histories accurately.
- Assist in the management of infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques in the clinical environment.
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive patient care, including referrals to specialists when necessary.
- Stay updated with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with general dentistry practices.
- Experience or knowledge in pediatrics, including pediatric dentistry techniques, is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical imaging processes and equipment is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to oral health.
- Excellent patient care skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Experience in dental assisting or medical coding is a plus but not required.
