Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Manage dental supplies inventory and ensure the operatory is well-stocked.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a compassionate approach towards younger patients.
Conduct preliminary assessments, including taking medical histories and vital signs.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Requirements

Proficiency in medical records management and documentation.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred.
Knowledge of general dentistry practices and aseptic techniques.
Familiarity with infection control standards in a dental setting.
Understanding of medical coding related to dental procedures is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of anatomy as it pertains to dental health.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus but not mandatory.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Certification or relevant training in dental assisting is preferred.
