Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and assisting chairside. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures, as well as proficiency in various dental software systems. The Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the practice and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage their check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dentist's calendar efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.
- Assist with patient inquiries regarding treatment plans, insurance, and billing.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols within the office.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications professionally.
- Process payments and manage financial transactions accurately.
- Collaborate with dental assistants and other staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Epic for patient management.
- Assist in taking X-rays when necessary and ensure proper handling of imaging equipment.
- Assist during a variety of treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain good oral health.
- Execute patient handoffs and monitors patient flow within the practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental assisting practices, including infection control measures.
- Familiarity with medical documentation and terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
- Understanding of prosthodontics, endodontics, and other dental specialties is beneficial.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Epic is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Must have experience in a clinical setting.
