Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering exceptional services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and most of all, must be team oriented...works well with other team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, rooms and equipment following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Manage patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical information.
- Provide support in adult & pediatric dentistry, making patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health.
- Willingness to use and be trained to use dental scanner.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk duties as needed, utilizing Dentrix software for efficient record management.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care and assist with administrative tasks as required.
- Taking necessary dental x-rays
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Licensed to take necessary X-rays.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating an ability to work with children in a dental setting.
- Proficiency in using Windows driven computers & software. Currently we use Eaglesoft, but are converting to Dentrix.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care while adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
