Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and administrative skills to support both the dental team and our patients effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take and process dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
Manage patient records, including medical documentation, medical records, and medical coding in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments, updating patient information, and managing billing processes.
Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history from patients.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.

Skills

Proficiency in using Softdent for charting and scheduling.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
Experience with chairside assisting techniques in general dentistry.
Familiarity with medical imaging technologies including 3D scanners.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
Ability to perform basic medical documentation tasks accurately.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
