Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality oral healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and assist the dentist during procedures. Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including removing plaque and tartar from teeth
- Take dental x-rays and develop them for the dentist's review
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and document any abnormalities
- Administer local anesthesia to patients as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures, including preparing instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and treatment plans
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, CAD, Epic)
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures in a dental office setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to make patients feel comfortable during their visit
