Overview
We are a private dental practice seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Office Manager/Front Desk employee to oversee our daily operations, employee training and performance, and patient relations. This employee will both perform and oversee administrative duties.The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of dental office management, ensuring the highest level of patient care while maintaining efficient office operations. This role requires a blend of administrative expertise, fiscal management, and a commitment to professional, compassionate, and effective management.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the dental office, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal patient experience.
- Implement and oversee scheduling, billing, and insurance verification processes to enhance operational efficiency, including collecting payments and posting insurance payments
- Perform administrative duties such as greeting patients, checking them in/out, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling appointments
- Supervise and train office staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Oversee patient relations, ensuring that the patient experience is positive and of the highest quality
- Implement and maintain office policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean, well-organized, environment
- Handle financial management tasks including budgeting, fiscal planning, and expense tracking.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation practices are followed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care and effective utilization of resources.
- Utilize EMR/EHR Dentrix Ascend system for efficient record management.
Skills
- 2+ years of administrative experience required (does not necessarily have to be medical/dental but must be familiar with administrative processes)
- Proven experience in medical office management or dental office experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills required.
- Strong fiscal management skills including budgeting and financial oversight.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and records management practices.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of healthcare management principles including utilization management and critical care experience is a plus.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of human resources functions within a medical setting is beneficial.
