Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with experience in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. This role involves assisting the dentist during various procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to procedures.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic is a plus.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and dental terminology is essential.
- Ability to perform medical documentation accurately, including medical records management and coding.
- Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health and infection control practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.95 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
