Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our dental practice. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various medical and dental administrative tasks.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in process efficiently.
- Schedule appointments using dental scheduling software while ensuring optimal patient flow.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle insurance claims processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT and ICD coding.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Assist with documentation review and maintain organized filing systems for medical records.
- Provide clerical support including typing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure seamless patient care and support care plans as needed.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology, and health information management is essential.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are required.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective patient interactions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
