Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our our team on Fridays and potentially extended days or times. This position is for accelerated hygiene and an assistant is provided. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety in our practice. This role is essential in supporting our dentists and delivering exceptional service to our patients, particularly in pediatric and general dentistry settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling, polishing, and applying fluoride treatments.
- Conduct patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories.
- Utilize dental software such for patient records management and appointment scheduling.
- Assist with chairside procedures in a four-handed dentistry environment, ensuring optimal workflow during treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual patient needs, especially in pediatric dentistry.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and medical terminology relevant to patient care.
- Knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and procedures.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient documentation review and management.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within a dental clinic setting.
- Previous experience in dental assisting or working within a dental office is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, particularly children, to ensure comfort during procedures.

Pay: $43.00 - $50.00 per hour
