Job Description

Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily activities of the clinical facility of the dentistry department. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a dental hygienist as necessary. Coordinates and performs all special patient procedures under the direction of a Dentist.

Job Responsibility

Promotes Dental Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
Leads the activities of assigned Dental Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the clinical facility of the dentistry department.
Maintains clinical facility and equipment as outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
Maintains inventory control system for the department including ordering, stocking, and dispensing of supplies as necessary.
Performs the duties and responsibilities of a dental hygienist as necessary, including chair-side dental assisting and other procedures and treatments as assigned.

Job Qualification

Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Current License to practice as a Dental Hygienist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required. Billing experience, preferred.
