Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, familiarity with dental terminology, and the ability to assist in both general and specialized dentistry, including pediatric dentistry.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging when necessary.
- Manage patient records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling.
- Monitor vital signs and provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Assist with the operation of 3D scanners for advanced imaging when required.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure efficient patient flow and appointment scheduling.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding is essential.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques is required.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
