Job Description Summary:
The Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care, including diagnosis, preventative care, operative procedures, prosthetics, oral surgery, and treatment of oral pathologies. This role requires the Dentist to deliver services consistent with professional standards, as well as the policies and procedures set by Cherry Street Services, Inc. The Dentist will ensure patient care is provided in a professional, ethical, and effective manner while adhering to the organization's standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and treatment, ensuring all procedures are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinic policies, procedures, and protocols to achieve the goals and objectives of Cherry Street Services, Inc.
- Contribute to the development and management of the Dental Quality Assurance program.
- Participate in supervising, training, and mentoring semi-professional and paraprofessional dental staff.
- Participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call system to provide ongoing patient care.
- Ensure appropriate referrals are made to encourage continuity of care for patients.
- Attend departmental, internal, and external meetings as required.
- Understand and adhere to Cherry Street Services, Inc.'s compliance standards, including the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Stay informed on relevant federal, state, and organizational regulations, laws, and policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Oral Health Officer.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification as required by the role and licensing standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others in person and via telephone.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and in a variety of work environments, such as traditional offices, mobile dental vans, and nursing homes.
- Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
- Effective oral communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals and groups.
- Exercise sound judgment when making decisions and appraising situations.
- Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining professionalism and stability.

Education / Licenses / Certificates:
- Current, valid license to practice dentistry in Michigan.
- DEA registration required.
Insurable as a dentist for liability coverage.

Experience:
At least one year of experience working in a dental practice, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
Physical Requirements:
- Possible exposure to patients with illnesses and infections.
- Frequent use of the telephone and computer, requiring manual dexterity for writing and data entry.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- Vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- May require bending, squatting, kneeling, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
