Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our young patients while ensuring a comfortable and safe environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric dentistry and a strong understanding of dental procedures, terminology, and patient management.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, utilizing knowledge of dental imaging techniques.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately in OpenDental
- Manage patient flow and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for children and their families.
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including handing instruments to the dentist and managing materials.
- Ensure all dental equipment is sterilized and ready for use, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and coding as required.
Skills
- Proficiency in Open Dnetal is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry techniques and chairside assisting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental charting and patient education
- Ability to perform basic vital signs assessments and communicate effectively with young patients.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry
