Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental fabrication, laboratory procedures, and technical skills essential for creating high-quality dental prosthetics and restorations. Responsibilities
- Fabricate dental prostheses, crowns, bridges, dentures, and other restorations with precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology to design custom dental appliances when required.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to interpret prescriptions and technical specifications accurately.
- Conduct quality control checks on all fabricated items, ensuring they meet clinical standards for fit, function, and aesthetics.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including materials such as impression compounds, ceramics, metals, and resins.
- Use precise measuring tools such as micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy of restorations.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation related to laboratory procedures and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental fabrication techniques, materials, and infection control practices.
- Support the dental team by providing technical expertise in digital dentistry workflows including CAD/CAM systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental fabrication or laboratory work within a dental office or laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures related to restorative dentistry.
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for designing restorations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols specific to dental laboratories and clinical environments.
- Ability to perform detailed measurements using tools like micrometers with high precision.
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
- Competence in medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry when applicable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with the dental team and explaining technical details clearly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
