The AEGD Resident is a licensed dental professional enrolled in a CODA-accredited postdoctoral program focused on advanced comprehensive clinical care and didactic education. The resident is responsible for providing patient-centered care across all disciplines of dentistry, developing advanced diagnostic, treatment planning, and procedural skills in a practice-based environment under faculty supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- DMD/DDS degree from a CODA-accredited institution or equivalent.
- Ability to qualify, at a minimum, for a resident dental license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Deliver comprehensive dental care to a varied patient population, including special needs and medically complex patients.
- Participate in clinical rotations, seminars, case presentations, and didactic sessions in all areas of general dentistry, including prosthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Demonstrate increasing autonomy and responsibility in patient care throughout the residency year.
- Work effectively in interdisciplinary and interprofessional settings, including communication between residents and referring providers.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic health records per institutional and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and patient safety initiatives.
- Engage in community outreach and education initiatives, as assigned or as desired.
- Participate in program evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
- Attend all required training, orientation, and clinical calibration sessions.
- Comply with all programmatic, institutional, and CODA standards including policies on professionalism, ethical behavior, and patient confidentiality.
