Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on comprehensive patient care, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining infection control standards, utilizing medical imaging technology like 3D scanners and X-ray equipment, and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and endodontic treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating medical documentation, and scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Support the use of advanced technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices for comprehensive diagnostics.
- Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient information at all times.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure infection control standards are met consistently across all procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, we use Dentrix and Dexis.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment and utilize medical imaging tools like 3D scanners effectively.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient privacy.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages including pediatrics.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray licensing required where applicable.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
