Dental Assistant Job Description
Our Dental Assistants are the heroes of our practice. They support the patients’ comfort and safety during procedures, they help the doctors work efficiently without stress, and they promote a positive and healthy working environment by assisting their colleagues and making the day flow smoothly. Professionalism and positivity are the trademarks of our dental assistants, and they contribute to a harmonious work environment each and every day. We are looking for an assistant for our office in the beautiful St. Albans, VT.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and medical history
- Charting and medical coding
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry procedures
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for dental prosthetics
- Advanced diagnostics including intraoral photographs and 3D digital scans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation
- Logging and tracking of lab cases and associated appointments
- Facilitating repair requests
- Inventory
- Supply ordering
- Flush lines
- Maintaining tech equipment (handpieces, conebeam, compressor, etc.)
- Unpack shipments and send invoices to bookkeeping
- Organize treatment rooms and lab area
- Maintaining the facility
Experience:
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software and technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Previous dental assisting experience required in GP and specialty procedures preferred
