Essential Functions (including but NOT limited to)
1. Performs preliminary charting of patient needs and medical and dental histories for subsequent evaluations by the doctor
2. Performs prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, polished restorations, fluoride and sealant applications
3. Reviews treatment recommendations with patients
4. Maintains clinical notes in dental software within 24 hours of patient visit
5. Takes and processes radiographs
6. Manages patient hygiene regimen including recall care and follow up appointments
7. Correlates the practice recall system with the Chief Financial Officer
8. Inventories supply in the hygiene room
9. Sharpens periodontal instruments
10. Cleans hygiene room, sterilizes instruments and prepares hygiene room for patients
11. Performs assisting and clerical duties during hygiene downtime
12. Helps sterilization room during downtime
13. Participates in practice marketing activities both internally and externally
14. Helps to keep schedule booked
Education/Experience:
1. Graduate of accredited dental hygiene program
2. Licensed to practice in New York State
3. Able to follow and apply established office policies and procedures
4. Strong interpersonal skills
5. Capable of working effectively with doctors, staff and patients under varying conditions of pressure
6. Strong computer skills

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
