Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency with various dental software systems. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation.
- Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear working field during procedures.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout appointments.
- Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with medical documentation, coding procedures accurately for billing and insurance purposes using medical coding standards.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and answer questions regarding oral health practices.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless clinic operations, including reception duties when necessary as a dental receptionist.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
- Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and pediatrics is preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
