Advanced Oral Surgery and Periodontics is now accepting applications for the position of Dental Practice Manager. We are seeking an experienced administrator, with an attention to detail, and a proven ability to lead fellow team members.
- Lead the overall management of the dental practice, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow optimization
- Oversee fiscal management activities such as budgeting, financial reporting, billing, and collections to ensure profitability and financial health
- Manage human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with employment laws
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and other relevant standards
- Utilize dental practice management software like WinOMS to schedule appointments, manage patient records, and streamline administrative processes
- Supervise medical administrative support staff to ensure accurate medical records management, coding, billing, and insurance claims processing
- Oversee clinic operations including patient flow, clinical protocols, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like eClinicalWorks or Epic, and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems
- Implement quality assurance protocols for medical records accuracy, medical terminology adherence, and compliance with HIPAA privacy standards
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize acute care services and manage patient care effectively
- Develop strategies for managed care contracts and utilization management to maximize revenue streams
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration within a dental or clinical setting
- Strong supervisory experience leading teams in a healthcare environment
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is highly desirable
- Knowledge of fiscal management including budgeting, financial analysis, and resource allocation
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare regulations such as JCAHO standards
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Background in dental office experience or clinic experience is preferred; veterinary or hospital experience is a plus but not required
- Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, vendors, and healthcare providers
- Ability to implement policies related to best practices in the dental industry
