Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of dental terminology and practices. The Dental Assistant will assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit. Much of our work is surgical so understanding of infection control is essential.

Duties

Assist the dentist during chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.(License training available)
Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and ready for use.
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
Stay current with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Proficient in using dental software such as Dentrix or Softdent.
Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients and team members while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
