Responsibilities:
*Prepare operatories for periodontal procedures (scaling, root planing, surgeries, implant placements)
*Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and materials.
*Take and process dental X-rays, including full-mouth series and CBCT scans if needed.
*Record and chart periodontal probing depths and other clinical findings.
*Assist chairside during surgeries (e.g., flap surgeries, grafting, implant placement, crown lengthening).
*Manage suction, retract tissue, and maintain a sterile field.
*Mix impression materials, cements, and surgical solutions.
*Provide postoperative instructions to patients.
*Monitor patients during and after procedures, especially when sedation is used.
*Maintain sterile technique and surgical trays.
*Assist with suture removal and postoperative dressing placement.
*Handle tissue samples if biopsies are taken.
*Monitor healing and assist with follow-up visits.
*Greet and prepare patients for procedures.
*Support patients in understanding treatment plans and answer basic questions (under supervision of the periodontist).
