Our growing dental practice in Ocean View, Delaware is seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a crucial connection between our patients and clinical staff—guiding patients through their treatment plans, navigating insurance processes, and ensuring a smooth and positive experience from start to finish.
The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and confident in handling administrative tasks within a clinical environment. If you’re experienced with dental/medical terminology and EHR systems and enjoy helping patients understand their care, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and clearly explain treatment plans, procedures, costs, and insurance coverage to patients
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility using online portals and practice software
- Process payments and support medical billing, including CPT and ICD-9/10 coding
- Manage patient scheduling using a multi-line phone system while maintaining outstanding phone etiquette
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including medical and dental histories in EMR systems
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Assist with insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and claim submissions
- Work closely with clinical staff to coordinate timely patient care and treatment delivery
- Support front desk operations including filing, data entry, and managing medical records
- Deliver exceptional patient service by addressing questions promptly, clearly, and courteously
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of dental and medical terminology, ICD-9/10 and CPT coding, and medical billing workflows
- Experience with EMR/EHR platforms such as Denticon, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Understanding of HIPAA and health information management standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong typing skills
- Excellent organizational abilities and high attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, especially when managing multi-line phone systems
- Ability to multitask and stay accurate in a fast-paced office environment
- Bilingual candidates are a plus
- Prior experience in a dental or clinical office is required
