Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status.
- Assist with dental procedures by preparing treatment areas and providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, reviewing documentation, and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Capture and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) accurately while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Maintain a clean, sterile environment using aseptic techniques and adhere to infection control standards to ensure patient safety.
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures by working effectively with young patients in a caring and gentle manner.
- Document all procedures thoroughly in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy for medical coding and billing purposes.
- Review patient documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare regulations before finalizing records.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems /Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry environments with a focus on patient care excellence.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental procedures using proper medical imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining treatment plans clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review processes related to dental care.
