Express Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) for a full-time contract opportunity in Vinton, Iowa. This is an excellent entry point for new graduates looking to gain hands-on clinical experience, with potential for direct hire.
The ideal candidate has a strong passion for patient care and a solid understanding of dental hygiene practices, including preventive oral health services and patient education. Schedule:
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Weekends: Off

What You’ll Do:
- Perform routine dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments
- Conduct oral health assessments by reviewing medical histories, vitals, and dental charts
- Take and review dental X-rays while following radiation safety standards (as permitted)
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventative care, and healthy habits
- Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, supporting efficient clinical flow
- Maintain accurate, compliant patient records within EHR systems
- Follow infection control protocols in alignment with OSHA and HIPAA standards
- Prepare instruments, manage supplies, and support overall chairside operations
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate prior to treatment
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient in dental practice software (EHR) for scheduling, documentation, and billing (Preferred, but not required)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to accurately assess vital signs and recognize abnormalities or medical concerns
- Familiarity with dental imaging (X-rays) and basic medical coding processes (as permitted -- Preferred, but not required)
- Experience with pediatric patients and general dentistry settings (Preferred)
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate, professional approach
- Strong communication skills to effectively educate and support diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance
Requirements: (Iowa Requirements)
- Active Iowa Dental Hygienist License (RDH) – required
- Current CPR/BLS Certification (must include hands-on component) – required
- Negative TB Test (within the last 12 months) – required
- ·Must have a minimum of (6) months to (1) year of experience in the position of Dental Hygienist within the last (3)years
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
- Strong patient care and communication skills
