Director of Operations

Large, Growing Multispecialty Private Practice

About the Opportunity

A thriving and expanding private practice is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to help take the practice to the next level. As the operational leader, you will serve as the owner's right hand; managing day-to-day operations, developing systems and infrastructure, and playing a key role in strategic initiatives including the acquisition and integration of a second location.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned operations professional who is equally comfortable building teams, optimizing workflows, managing performance, and driving growth.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & People Management

Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain a high performing operations team in close coordination with the Doctor owner
Foster a positive, accountable team culture grounded in patient centered excellence
Manage performance reviews, disciplinary processes, and separations with professionalism and consistency
Ensure organization-wide HR compliance, including the employee handbook

Operations & Systems

Build and manage a KPI dashboard for daily, weekly, and monthly performance tracking
Standardize and document all operational workflows across the practice
Own and optimize the Practice Management System (PMS), ensuring data integrity and scheduling efficiency
Oversee facility maintenance and ensure full compliance with WISHA, HIPAA, and all applicable regulatory requirements

Growth & Strategic Initiatives

Identify and implement revenue growth opportunities across service lines
Drive organic and inorganic growth through operational excellence and strategic planning
Develop and execute a marketing strategy in partnership with external vendors, including new patient acquisition and retention programs
Lead the operational planning, due diligence support, and integration of a second practice location
Build scalable infrastructure capable of supporting a multi-location enterprise

Owner Partnership & Reporting

Act as the owner's trusted operational partner, filtering day to-day noise and surfacing only strategic or critical decisions
Facilitate agenda-driven and outcome-focused weekly leadership meetings
Deliver monthly operational and financial reports with meaningful analysis and actionable insights

Financial Management

Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production and collections against established targets
Partner with CPAs and bookkeepers to produce monthly P&L’s with variance analysis
Lead revenue cycle management using KPI driven tools
Manage vendor relationships, supply procurement, and cost control initiatives
Build and manage the annual operating budget

What You Bring

10+ years of progressive experience successfully managing large or multi-location dental operations
Demonstrated financial acumen — comfortable owning budgets, reading P&Ls, and driving revenue performance
Proven ability to diagnose complex business challenges and move quickly from analysis to action
A strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent
Experience leading organizational change and building trust across diverse teams
Deep commitment to superior patient care and customer service
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting to ownership and key stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000, commensurate with experience Performance Bonus: 10–20% annual bonus based on practice and individual performance metrics
