Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray imaging) and operate 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or pediatric cases to ensure safety throughout treatment.
- Provide excellent dental receptionist support by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records with precision.
- Support the dental team with medical coding and documentation to facilitate billing and insurance claims processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment adhering to infection control standards and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and performing vital signs measurement.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices essential for safe patient care.
- Experience working with EMR systems such as Denticon, Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team.
