Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to aseptic techniques.
- Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Take accurate vital signs and medical histories, update electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with medical coding standards.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and providing clear instructions for pre- and post-treatment care.
- Take high-quality X-rays and other diagnostic images while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized dental clinic environment by following infection control practices, sterilizing instruments, and managing medical records securely.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and records management.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; capable of explaining procedures clearly.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
