Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our professional dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, to maintain optimal oral health for patients.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Assist with dental procedures by preparing patients and providing chairside support during examinations and treatments.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Follow infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric and general dentistry cases.
- Monitor patient vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive care delivery.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
- Experience in pediatric dentistry, including working with children in a clinical setting.
- Skilled in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Ability to accurately assess patient health through vital signs and medical history review.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent patient care skills with compassionate communication tailored to diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice and documentation review processes.
