Job Summary:
The Dental Assistant provides chairside assistance to dentists, prepares treatment areas, and ensures proper sterilization and handling of instruments. This role is essential in delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Record patient medical and dental histories accurately
- Take and process dental X-rays as required
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain patient records and ensure documentation compliance
- Follow infection control protocols and safety standards
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Dental Assistant Certification (as required by state)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and sterilization techniques
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in a dental clinic or healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dental software systems
