Job Description: Insurance Coordinator
Position Summary:
Promote practice growth through effectively implementing administrative procedures and positive, professional presentation as a member of the Front Desk Team. Applicant will need to have outstanding time management and organizational skills. Must also have the knowledge and ability to communicate with our patients to provide information regarding their insurance and finances associated with their accounts.
Essential Responsibilities:
Verifying patients insurance
Submitting insurance claims and follow up by phone, email, mail, etc.
Responsible for contacting patients when insurance is inactive and collecting current insurance information
Notifying patients of upcoming payments as it relates to upcoming appointments
Educating on the availability of alternative insurance options
Must maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned schedule and time off policies.
Telephone: answer appropriately; record and retrieve messages
Retrieve messages and e-mails and act upon them
Accept and record payments made at the time of service, via mail and telephone
Present financing options and make necessary arrangements
Prepare End-of-Month Report, when necessary
Make courtesy calls for treatment follow-up (post-op calls, when necessary)
Complete training in all areas shown on training schedule which apply to your position(s)
Additional responsibilities as needed & as appropriate
Completely cross-train to assume Financial Coordinator, Hygiene Coordinator, Greeter/Receptionist responsibilities, when necessary
Success Factors
Detailed knowledge of dental software. Dentrix experience preferred
Experience with Remote Light preferred
Experience with electronic filings
Knowledge of medical terminology and dental coding
Good interpersonal skills to maintain positive rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community
Effective verbal skills to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and staff
Professional personal presentation
Good Mathematical aptitude in order to prepare and interpret financial and productivity reports for the practice.
Education
Minimum high school diploma
Two years’ experience in dental setting
Computer literacy
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $21.00 per hour
